Q: Can it save me costs?
A: Yes. In many circumstances it can
prevent the need for dual working. In some circumstances
insurance premiums can be reduced. In the event of an incident
or injury and a resulting compensation claim, cost could
be saved it the employer has systems in place and has taken
all necessary steps in their "Duty to Care". By
having an accurate and reliable system, costs can be saved
in first aid training.
Q: Can I lease the equipment?
A: Yes. For orders over £2,000
you can take our lease rental option over a period of 3,4
or 5 years. Subject to status.
Q: How many Help Points and Lone Worker
alarm triggers can be used?
A: There is no limit to the amount
of alarm triggers. Help Points and Lone Worker alarms can
be used with the same control panel.
Q: How many separate
named alarm zones can be programmed?
A: 512 named zones can be
supported by each system – multiple systems can be installed
per site.
Q: How much staff
training is required?
A: Very minimal – the
system is fully automated. Your staff just need to be told
where the Help Points are and what to use them for. Designated
First Aiders will need to understand the use of the Pagers.
Lone Workers will need to understand the importance of
using their Lone Worker alarms.
Q: How do the Emergency
Response personnel know where the emergency is?
A: Emergency Response personnel will have a text message
displayed on their pagers, SMS
mobile phones and/or networked
PC’s detailing the location of the emergency.
Q: How do you reset
the alarm after an incident or a false alarm?
A: The system can be easily reset at
the Control Panel.
Q: Does the system
keep a record of any incidents?
A: Yes. A complete audit trail is maintained which
helps when complying with Health and Safety regulations and
any potential investigations.
Q: What happens
if we move premises?
A: No problem. The beauty of the SBES LIFESAVER system
is its ease of installation and relocation because of it's
predominantly wire-free design.
Q: What happens
to the alarm system during a power failure?
A: The complete system is protected
by a rechargeable battery back-up containing enough power to keep the system
fully operational for a minimum of 8 hours.
Q: What about maintenance?
A: The first year's maintenance is included in the
purchase price. We recommend annual maintenance inspections
by our engineers to thoroughly check the system, update software
and change all the Help Point batteries. For most installations
this takes no longer than one day and can be out-of-hours
if required.
Q: How much does
it cost?
A: This depends on each site and the number of trigger
and response points required. We will provide a free site
survey and quote at your convenience.

Q: What is the difference
between PROTECTOR and LIFESAVER?
A: PROTECTOR is for a single user
who may travel from location to location.
Q: What is the range?
A: Case to Pager = 400-500m. Lone
Worker unit to case = 150m.
Q: How is the system
maintained?
A: Very little maintenance is required. The battery in the lone worker tilt unit needs to be replaced
every two year/10,000 activations.
Q: How much training
is required to use the system?
A: We will send you PROTECTOR so that
it is ready to use immediately. Easy to understand operating
instructions are provided.
Q: What are the
dimensions of the case ?
A: The size of the case is 425mm wide
x 300mm tall x 125mm deep.
Q: Does the system
have to be mains powered ?
A: The standard system is mains powered
but a battery powered version is available. The re-chargeable
batteries will last 18 hours.
Q: Can we have additional
pagers or alert activation points?
A: Yes. The system can accommodate
as many pagers as you like. The standard system is limited
to two lone worker tilt units or four pendants (which do
not have tilt functionality).

Q: How does TRACER work?
A: By utilising GPS/GSM technology – making
pinpointing the Lone Worker quick and reliable.
(View our TRACER
Virtual Demo for a visual explanation).
Q: What is the range?
A: The vehicle can be tracked anywhere
in the world. Once the driver has left the vehicle, their
lone worker tilt unit will operate up
to 1000 meters from
the vehicle.
Q: Does the system work underground?
A: If the vehicle is underground then
no. However, if the vehicle is in the open and the worker
is underground then the system can work.
Q: What does the vehicle tracking system
provide?
A:
• GeoFence –
an electronic security fence around the vehicle. Unauthorised
movements are reported directly to the Operations Centre.
• Location on request – call the Operations Centre,
give authorisation/security details and the exact location of the vehicle is
supplied.
• Alarm Report – A detailed SMS message from the
Operations Centre alerts the drives to alarm activations.
• Remote Immobilisation – A unique feature enabling
the Operations Centre to safely immobilise the vehicle. This is designed to
speed recovery while reducing risks to life and property.
• Stolen KeyGuard – A credit card sized electronic
security tag remotely controls the GeoFence on the vehicle, it will even alert
the Operations Centre to car-jacking incidents. Can be customised to your exact
requirements.
• Budget Navigation – enables you to link your
PDA/laptop to the GPS unit for free to use real time navigation.
• Travel History – Gives a detailed journey log,
showing start and end location, date, time, distance and idling time. Invaluable
for calculating business expenses and staff's P11D. The report can be emailed
or posted.
• Stolen Vehicle Recovery – the Operations Centre
will recover your vehicle to a mainland UK location of your choice.
Q: When and how can TRACER be installed?
A: As the system is often installed
in commercial vehicles we are happy to work with you to determine
the most convenient time for your business even if it is
out of normal working hours. It normally takes less than
2 hours per vehicle.
